The Premise and Storyline
At the heart of Yarimono lies an intriguing story of discovery and competition. The protagonist embarks on a journey to master the legendary “Cheat Tackle,” a unique and powerful ability possessed by their creature partner, Yarimon. This journey leads them to participate in a high-stakes tournament where strategy, skill, and creature mastery reign supreme. The narrative is layered with twists and turns, delving into themes of friendship, rivalry, and personal growth.
The storyline is crafted to keep players engaged, offering dialogue-rich cutscenes and character interactions that build a rich, immersive world. Players will find themselves invested in uncovering the mysteries behind the “Cheat Tackle” and the enigmatic figures they encounter along the way.
Gameplay Mechanics
Turn-Based Combat System
One of the standout features of Yarimono is its refined turn-based combat system. Players command Yarimon and other collected creatures in battles that require strategic planning and quick decision-making. The game rewards foresight, making it essential to anticipate opponents’ moves and counter them effectively.
Creature Collection and Training
Much like other creature-collection games, Yarimono allows players to capture, train, and evolve a variety of creatures. Each creature possesses unique abilities and stats, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations to form a balanced team.
Mastering the “Cheat Tackle”
The “Cheat Tackle” is not just a flashy move—it’s a core gameplay mechanic. Mastering this ability involves understanding its strengths, weaknesses, and situational uses. The game provides tutorials and challenges that progressively teach players how to harness this skill effectively.
Tournament System
The game’s central tournament adds a layer of competitiveness. Players face increasingly difficult opponents, each with unique strategies and creatures. The tournament’s progression system ensures a steady increase in challenge, making each victory feel earned and rewarding.
Graphics and Art Style
Anime-Inspired Visuals
Yarimono boasts a vibrant, anime-inspired art style that perfectly complements its narrative and gameplay. Cons:
Steep Learning Curve: New players may find the combat mechanics overwhelming initially.

Comparison to Similar Titles
Similarities to Popular RPGs
Fans of Pokémon and Persona will find familiar elements in Yarimono. The creature collection and tournament mechanics echo Pokémon, while the character-driven narrative and strategic gameplay are reminiscent of Persona.
Unique Features
However, Yarimono sets itself apart with the “Cheat Tackle” mechanic and its anime-inspired aesthetics. These elements provide a fresh twist on the genre, offering something new even to seasoned RPG players.
Tips for New Players
Experiment with Creature Combinations: Don’t stick to a single team. Experimenting with different creatures can reveal unexpected synergies.
Focus on Learning the “Cheat Tackle”: Early mastery of this ability can make battles significantly easier.
Engage with NPCs: Talking to non-playable characters provides valuable tips and sometimes rare items.
Save Often: The game’s difficulty can spike unexpectedly, so saving frequently ensures progress isn’t lost.
Final Verdict
Yarimono is a masterclass in turn-based RPG design. With its engaging storyline, deep combat mechanics, and stunning visuals, it offers a gaming experience that is both challenging and rewarding. While it may not be perfect, its strengths far outweigh its shortcomings, making it a must-play for fans of the genre.

Pokemon for adults, in every sense of the word
Its a drastically accelerated pokemon in terms of gameplay, the promise of a 'cheat move' is absolutely real, but the game is designed around it, so it absolutely does what is promised without discount, but the game is not without challenges. It basically is a pokemon with minimal grind and all meat.
The story and characters are super-star highlights, the story for its short length, really portrays a large cast of very engaging characters, and the core mystery and story is extremely well executed and quite moving. I would say this easily crushes any pokemon story in terms of quality.
to be clear, this NO is for DLC2 problems not the origin game or origin game + DLC1.With both DLC1 && DLC2 installed, I was not able unlock certain achievements. I did try find the answer / install DLC1 only but no dice.
With DLC2 only installed, game does start.
All done in 11 hours. Good deal in sale. Story excecution and grinding is good enough. I dont get why protagonist is a short ugly midget wondering if developer is ugly af. There are many scenes but inside cam must have been seperate, feels raw and unpleasing.
Still good perv game 10/8
-1 for disturbing inside cam,
-1 for ugly character with full forcefull and repetitive scenes.
Already finish this game in dlsite. Buying this again in steam to support the dev...
Please release Yareru Ticket to steam too. Definetely gonna buy...
Depending on your goal, this is a fun monster taming / creature capturing type of game with "extra bits". Keep in mind... you do need to "patch" your game for the special scenes, which you can learn from their website / forum. Anyways, i recommend
While this review is technically NOT a recommendation, the game itself isn't bad, per se.The recommendation really depends on whether or not you can tolerate a very specific type of Ugly Bastard hentai. The type being where the UB protag in question has a tongue that looks like a cow tongue, and are into the idea of watching a girl fill a mug with piss, then watching a different girl drink it (thank fuck that second option is skippable, but would have much preferred skipping the entire interaction). For a Pokemon-styled game.........it could be worse. It follows the typical 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' approach most lazy knock-offs do, unlike the rather complex interplay between Types, but you honestly shouldn't be expecting what Pokemon has to offer from this type of game. The art for the Pokemon.......can be fine. Most of the Not!Pokemon are just generic knockoffs, with only the 'special' ones having much effort put into them.
The art for the girls is a bit better, though the rather lackluster attempt at animation can be a bit mixed, where some of the girls have almost hot animations, and the others were cleared just given the minimum effort.
There are also doujins from the main artist available to read within the game, but they aren't translated, which is kind of an annoyance. The scenes themselves are often just........some form of vanilla P in V stuff. Its either missionary, Standing, or some variety thereof, with most of the roster only having a single scene.
Some girls have multiple scenes, which can dramatically change from the vanilla to being strangely pissed focus, to occasional blowjobs or paizuris, with the 'main' girls often getting extended scenes with kissing (which means having to see the strange grotesque tongue Protag has).
The worst part of the scenes are the sound effects and the frankly abhorrent sex writing: the sound effects are generic squelches that you only expect from people who have never heard sexual sounds, and the translation of really bad UB hentai dialogue makes the extended sex scenes an utter slog if you ain't into it (like, I wouldn't be shocked for Protag to be making the typical sex onomatopoeia one expects from bad UB hentai, but the fact even some of the girls are doing 'Buhi' style noises shows that not even a good translation team could save the script for the sex scenes). The plot for the non-sex part of the game is.......fine. It's not great, but to say its bad would be wrong, coz its just......okay.Overall, it still feels like a slog, to the point that I've beaten the main game, and am choosing to stop playing rather than risk whatever horrors the DLC offer.
The few 'extra' scenes I unlocked for girls just promised me more piss, so seeing a host of the girls have extra scenes in the DLC didn't act like the incentive it wants to be.
Good story, good content, good gameplay.
Passion project.
Highly recommend.P.S.
Love the ruin event. Glad the devs decide to put it on the game.
While it may put someone off (it's optional), it's just too good.
The "balancing" on this event is also good and overall a good outcome.
This game has no business being so fleshed out and polished 😂
It's literally a Pokemon game where you get to H with every single trainer you beat.
If you're already a fan of Nyuu Koubou's work, this is basically that, brought to life.
(Of course, make sure you get the patch for the full experience.)
It's one of the best H-games I've ever played, seriously.
The main character is ugly, you have no say in that, the art work is terrible but the worst thing, the thing that made it unplayable and forced me to request a refund is that it's not what it advertises to be. To get the H scenes or even the DLC stuff I paid money for, I had to go and get patches from another site and then go through that whole mess. Another site that's not originally in English or run by people who speak English, so the directions are a mess. For those that went through the process, more power to you, but if I knew I had to go through that, I wouldn't have bought the game. Hope this helps some of you.
even without the patch, the game itself is still surprisingly fun, it's P*kem*n but with 100% capture rate as long as you win the battle, there's a cheat skill but you can choose to not use it, and there are challenge where the cheat skill is banned and those are legitimately challenging, and I know the author's other works, I didn't expect the story to be that good.with the patch, imo it has some of the best arts and animations, the dlcs are worth it too imo, tho one bad thing is the patch installation instructions can be confusing, if you bought dlc 1 and dlc 2, just use the dlc 2 patch only, it already contains the base game and dlc 1 patch.
Truly one of a kind game...The gameplay is fun and easy to understand, music is calming and good to listen too.The animation is different from other H games but it not bad and I personally like it.The story I really like and very cute.
TLDR: Imagine Pokemon but with seggs and a lot of QoL improvements and yeah thats it. Quite a hefty content if you wan to 100% it and DLCs are present to increase the playtime if you like.Yarimono is a monster battler/collector with Hentai. The game takes us back to Gen 1~3 vibes and the biggest difference is we can bang the trainers once we defeat them. the H-scenes themselves are really hot but on the "yucky" side with liquids being set to 15 and just liquids everywhere, I'm not into that but not really a bother to me. Might be regarded as "disgusting" to some so a heads up is necessary. Story is on par with other Pokemon games with some side quests that takes it to the extreme (cult stuff). Yarimon levels are capped by you trainer level requiring you to fight trainers around your level first before fighting other trainers. AKA You can't grind for levels since you need to fight trainers to raise your level. Every battle you earn EXP shards which can be used as exp for mons you want to level up. This is really good rather than fighting a patch of grass 100X. A lot of QoL improvements to those who min-max (like me) will have a breather here each yarimon species fave the exact same stats at the same level. Lets say a level 100 Pikachu evolved to Raichu will have the exact same stats as a Level 100 Raichu evolved at level ten. You can switch out Yarimons on the spot. No shiny mons. Cheat tackle is also a good fallback plan. Other than trainer levels you Yarimons will also have "Star rank" just use them regularly and that will also go up, Bond star also exist to increase this. Also weaker Evolutions will still be useful due to "Soul boost", that can raise stats of "cuter" mons to their evolved forms. Evolved forms can also use them.
Gameplay: 10/10 - Captured the early Pokemon vibes and is actually really challenging and fun at the same time.
Grind: 9/10 - A lot of QoL improvements you can switch out Yarimons on the spot, The only problem I deemed of some attention are trainer levels, but other than that its good. Also cheat tackle 10/10 a great fallback move.
H-scene: 8/10 - They are good and plenty with some repeating characters to be invested in. again a bit on the "eek" side but I'm jaded to that stuff already. Probably the only problem is most scenes will only have 1 position, but it is animated so it gets a plus.
Kink: 10/10 - I think they got everyone of them???
Story 10/10 - It's on par with other pokemon games the only difference is you can skip with "Left Control" so you can skip characters you don't like or want to skip all the dialogues.
Length: 6-9 hours - Just for the Main story and most H-scenes without getting 100% Yarimon. Can be faster if you skip dialogues and spam cheat tackle.
15-20 hours - easily if you plan to 100% everything (DLC 1&2 included) normal dificulty~
Overall: 9.5/10 - Except for the trainer levels everything is really good and straight forward.DLC 1 Review
It expands on the available content from the base game such as returning chracters to battle (and bang) Overall its cheap enough that I wouldn't mind paying for a few more mins of additional content. No new Yarimon or location, not a problem for me.
H-scenes: 10/10 improving on the base game. It adds 2-3 animated positions per scene. With emphasis on repeating charactersGrind: 9/10 similar to before you will have a time where you can't fight most characters and forces you to fight characters around your level first. But provides a really nice challenging battles. Where you are always behind levels forcing you to use your brain.Overall: 10/10 - must getDLC 2 Review
DLC 2 gives us a new, but small, region to explore (and ravage). It also adds new characters to fight (and bang) also adds new Yarimon 50 from the base game of 151 to a total of 201. Probably the only thing of note that most H-scenes here are back to the 1 position scenes compared to DLC1 but other than that it's still really good and an excellent place to grind for EXP Shards.Story: 10/10 - expands on the game's story and adds a region.
H-scenes: 8/10 - Some returning characters and a few new ones added. I just hope there were more varieties to the positions.
Grind: 10/10 - provided you finished DLC1 to completion then you will have an easier time over there. If you didn't you might be boned.
Overall: 9/10 - It was still fun and more scenes for Best girl Flare ;) is really welcome for me.Powerful early Yarimons
Messa > Mesalassa - Dark type Yarimon that can learn "Lamenting Spite" the most broken move especially on later levels. Imagine Poison but deals it 3x per turn.
Wink > Tears > Glare - Normal type Yarimon. A quite tanky typeless unit with 2 of the most hard hitting typeless moves. Means 100% damage no matter what and no weakness. Also deals more damage against buffed enemies, which is a lot on later more difficult enemies. They are powerful for me but stick to whatever you want and just have fun. Thats it for me.
The game is Hentai TAG however The catch is you have to go to a different website to get 18+. i tried that sketchy way but could not get the 18+ scene to work.to save my life Pm if any one figures out how to .no clue why files are not the right one on steam no clue? You still have to go to a 3rd source for Sexual content patch Or play this Pokemon version.
So i've played for 2 hours now, when is the hentai part supposed to occur?even without that part it's a pretty good creature capture game.
i would like to have a larger team than 3 monsters, but i'm sure there's a reason for it.it's not a hentai game if you have to go elsewhere to download something that makes it into one. By that logic Skyrim is a hentai game too.
So firstly i downloaded the patch.
I thought this was going to be very mid, but boy was i wrong. in the time i played i had quite a few scenes to see already in various poses. With the gallery encyclopedia right there in the pause menu you can revisit any scene as you wish. The scenes are well drawn, and animated. There seems to be 72 Characters you can "Interact" with And some have multiple scenes. the game is a simple pokemon-like battler, but you only get 3 monsters at a time. However you can swap them out for any in the reserve box as you like. With the cheat tackle ability you can farm exp quickly with the stronger monsters in the first area off to the left. i recommend getting this
this game is beyond what you can see on the surface ... on the outlook it just a pokemon game with H-element , like a lot of H-game that you just here for scene and minor gameplay mechanic... but the true is ... this game actually have decent gameplay plus a good story , is a mind-blow indeed . With huge amount of content and thing to collect... it can give you good chuck of hours gameplay (I did 100% the game thou) .
Best pokemon-like game I've ever played. The developer knows what part of pokemon was attractive. The story turned out to be quite touching, I wish pokemon can one day reach that level of story writing. The game itself had a few bug where it will freeze randomly(only the screen, all the functions are still there but you just could not see it). This happens kind of semi-regularly to the point where I almost save any moment I can... but this happened once again during the FINALE which really brought down the immersive experience... Nevertheless I would in fact recommend the game.(I only learnt afterwards that this game had next level adult content... well I think even without it the story is adult-appreciative level and I think very highly of this game as both a regular or an adult one)
Yarinomo is a good game given the pokemon nostalgia and the art of the sprites alone. The story makes little sense without the patch but is playable without. The artist for the human sprites is Nyuu koubou. If you know you know ;)
